Today was fun because I got to go down with Dad to the bakery in the grocery store, Spar. I had to wait a long time because there were a bunch of teenagers trying to get pizza but eventually I got to the front of the line. I got a chocolate Boston Creme donut, the filling was chocolate creme and on the top there were peanuts which added some crunch. The donut did not make it home, it was so good. I think it was worth the wait.
Skofja Loka has been a wonderful hit. I have met lots of friends and dogs. They all seem to like playing football (aka soccer) and basketball because of Luka Dončić. He is a Slovenian basketball player that now plays for the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA. He’s their star player playing in the point guard position. The kids around here thinks he’s a god and everyone likes him. He played in the FIBA World Cup Basketball Tournament for Slovenia and they came in 7th place.

Talk about “worth the wait,” your posts are starting to burst with the great experiences you are having! I was content to hear from each of you once in a while. You are drawing me in, as if I’m there with you. I can taste the donut and, you know me, the peanuts would have been the best part🤣.
Also, G, I’m so happy to see you out with the kids, as I’d imagined when I’d seen those kids playing on the streets and squares in Sicily and Albania. I do think you and Liv need to get the girls out. Maybe a little co-ed to start?😘

G, love Brita’s comment about tasting the donut!! It sounded pretty darn yummy, and going to the bakery with your Dad is a treat. I knew you’d find kids who would be playing basketball, but mostly football. It’s loved all over the world. I’ll be looking to watch the Mavericks and Luka this winter. Love to you and the fam! How great that you are making friends where you are! Sports can be such a great equalizer – doesn’t matter where you are from, what color you are, or what language you speak, everyone can find common ground through sports and all your lake friends know what an athlete you are!!
