There are two things that I really wanted to do in Slovenia. One was to get my nails painted and the other was to go on a trail ride. We started by emailing three trail riding barns in the area of Bled. We only heard back from two out of the three. At first I thought it was just my goal but in the end we got everyone on a horse. My horse was named Luna. She was a pretty big horse, Grant got a smaller one, Dad’s was huge and mom’s was a Lipizzan. At first I thought we might be up in the mountains but the guide told us that there was a big wash out this past summer that took out the trail. Instead we stayed on more flat surfaces through fields of other horse paddocks. My horse did not like the first horses, she sped up really fast and I had to pull on the reins and say “whoa.” She was a good listener except when she stopped to wait for dad (he was always in the back, by the way) and all of our horses went down to eat the grass. At the end of the tour we stopped at the local bar, owned by the horse guide, Grant and I had apple juice and the adults had a taste of home made schnapps. From there we went back to the barn through the paddocks. At the barn there were many helpers waiting for us to get back. They took the saddles off and got the horses into their stalls.
At least I checked one thing off my list 😉

Whoa, Liv!! That sounds amazing! I have only been on 3 horses in my entire life – in Hawaii, California, and Arizona. How fun that you got to do it in such a beautiful country so far from home! Enjoy all these wonderful adventures- thanks for taking us along! XO
