We started our gap year with a short stay in a city that deserves its own year. It gave us a chance to work out the kinks of travel between stomach bugs, travel colds, a terrible case of two right shoes and systemic poison ivy. Ryan nailed the Airbnb, located in Brixton, that even made the London Eye’s view of Central London jealous (blog header photo). We were able to take in an impressive performance of Hamilton at Victoria Palace and managed a museum day, bouncing back and forth between the Science Museum’s Power Up exhibit and all that the Natural History Museum had to offer. We filled the rest of our days with rides in the front row of the double decker buses, a visit to Hogwarts and platform 9 3/4 (any Harry fans out there?), and a quick bookend at Buckingham Palace and the Borough Market.

You packed in a LOT in London!! Hamilton and Hogwarts!!!! Yes!

Of course, Ryan found a place in Brixton! Did the whole family learn “Guns of Brixton” for World School? Punk is an important lesson! 💜
